# 2.12. Excel-like tabs

> This release turns the layout panel into tabs that work like Excel and Google Sheets, streamlines the column modal and improves cash flow accuracy.

## Excel-like tabs row

We've turned the layout panel into tabs that work just like in Excel.

* Add a new tab with the **+** button and pick a report template or object
* Drag to reorder tabs, and rename, color or open them from the right-click menu
* Select several tabs with `Cmd`/`Ctrl`-click
* The sum element (**Sum** / **Average** / **Count**) now sits at the right edge of the tab bar
* When tabs don't fit, they collapse into a hamburger menu, just like in a spreadsheet

## Clearer column modal

We've streamlined the column modal so the settings you use most are up front.

* The **Display** option (**Series** / **Total** / **Both**) is now also available on the default ACT and BUD columns
* **Cadence** has its own section with a D/W/M/Q/H/Y selector, plus a new **None** option that collapses everything into one column
* **Date offset** is now a toggle, hidden by default to reduce visual noise
* The budget's short name is shown as a badge in the table
* Better default date ranges for new report templates

## Quick filter & other improvements

* Quick filter: click the funnel icon on a dimension item row to filter the whole report by it
* Create a dimension split directly in the financial table, and sort a column from its header's right-click menu
* **General ledger** now shows the account number in its own column, sorts by date by default, and can be filtered by income statement or balance sheet
* You can now correct the inferred payment date manually, in bulk if needed
* Invoices marked as paid are excluded from cash mode, since they aren't real payments

## Bug fixes

* Formula rows (such as EBITDA) no longer show zeros until you change the date manually, and the **Budget Items** export shows readable values instead of "\[object Object]"
* Cash flow from investments no longer returns a value when there are no related transactions, and historical balances are now created automatically for new Enable Banking integrations
* Scrolling works again in the **Filter**/**Label** panel when **List view** is off
* System-generated payroll tax transactions in budgets now get the correct payment date, improving cash flow accuracy
* Multiple other fixes and visual corrections
