# 2.9. Budgeting panel

> A redesigned budgeting panel for working with and bulk editing budget items, drill-down from any column, and comma as the default decimal separator.

## Overview panel for budgeting

We've redesigned the budgeting panel. It's now more clearly structured and faster to work with.

**Top section: list of budget items**

* Shows all **budget items behind the total**
* All budget items in the list are selected by default
* Collapse the top section with the **dropdown arrow**
* Move between budget items with the **left and right arrows**

**Bottom section: budget item settings**

* Improved headings that show counterparty names and logos
* Shows when several budget items are selected for bulk editing
* The amount field **now supports formulas**, with the calculated value shown below the field
* Shift the **start date** easily, for example by a month or a quarter

**Narrower panel with responsive labels**

* You can now make the panel **narrower than before**
* Labels move above the fields when the panel is narrow
* Frees up working space on laptop screens

**Actions menu**

* Add fields to the panel, such as dimensions or variables
* Restore the default fields
* Delete one or more budget items

A Save button at the bottom of the panel replaces the previous Update button in the top bar.

These updates make it simpler to work with and edit budget items, and easy to make bulk changes.

## Drill-down from any column & other improvements

**Drill down from any column type**

You can now drill down into transactions from **any dynamic column**, including total columns.

* Select a value
* Press `Enter`
* See the transactions behind the amount in a list view

**Number formatting**

* Numbers can be saved with a **comma as the decimal separator**
* Comma is now the **default decimal separator**

**Other improvements**

* **VAT payment transactions are recognized** in the direct cash flow report (Procountor)
* Row arrows in reports now activate when you hover **anywhere on the row**, not just over the heading area

## Bug fixes

* Budget transactions are now only soft deleted
* Fixed issues in the **available cash** column calculation (real-time balances from Enable Banking)
* Multiple other fixes and visual corrections
