# Connect Clockify

> Connect your Clockify workspace to Caleido to bring tracked and billable hours into operational rows, so you can report and budget on hours next to your financials.

With the Clockify integration, Caleido reads the time entries of your Clockify workspace and turns them into daily hours. You can then report on hours and plan them next to your financial figures. Clockify is an operational data integration, so you can connect it alongside your accounting system and bank. Each organization can connect one Clockify workspace.

## Before you start

You need these details from your Clockify account:

* An API key
* The ID of the Clockify workspace you want to connect
* The region where your Clockify workspace is hosted

## Connect your Clockify workspace

1. Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar and select **Settings**.
2. Under **Data**, select **Integrations**.
3. Under **Operational data**, find Clockify and click **Connect**.
4. Enter your **API key** and **Workspace ID**.
5. In **Region**, select where your Clockify workspace is hosted: **Global**, **EU (Germany)**, **USA**, **UK** or **Australia**. **Global** is selected by default.
6. Click **Save**.

Caleido starts syncing your hours and shows a **Syncing accounts** notification. If Clockify rejects the API key, the region or the workspace ID, Caleido shows an error and saves nothing. Check the details and try again.

## What Caleido brings in

The first sync creates two operational rows and fills them with the full history of your workspace:

* **Tracked hours**: the hours of all finished time entries
* **Billable hours**: the hours of finished time entries marked as billable

Each day's value is the sum of the entries of all users that started on that day. Timers that are still running are not counted. Later syncs pick up entries that were added, edited or deleted in Clockify during the last 90 days.

You can't edit the actual values of these rows by hand, because they come from Clockify. You can still enter budget values for them. You can rename the rows and change their display settings, but not their data type, decimals or input cadence. If you delete one of the rows, Caleido creates it again with the full history on the next sync.

## Keep the connection working

When the connection is healthy, Clockify shows a green check mark in **Integrations**. If a sync fails, Caleido writes no values for it and shows **Retry sync**. Click it to sync again. If the connection needs new credentials, click **Reconnect** and enter the details again.
