# Create Procountor API credentials for Caleido

> Allow paid interfaces in Procountor, create a read-only API user for Caleido, and send the credentials safely to your Caleido contact.

Caleido reads your bookkeeping from Procountor through Procountor's API. To connect, you create a separate API user for Caleido in Procountor. Your Caleido contact then sets up your organization in Caleido and connects the integration.

The menu and field names below are from Procountor's Finnish interface. The English meaning is in brackets.

## Before you start

You need a Procountor user who is allowed to create new users, such as a **Pääkäyttäjä** (main user).

## Allow paid interfaces

If your organization hasn't used integrations in Procountor before, turn them on first.

1. Log in to Procountor.
2. Select **Hallinta** > **Yrityksen tiedot** > **Käyttöasetukset** (management > company details > usage settings).
3. Under **Integraatioasetukset** (integration settings), select **Salli laskutettavien rajapintojen käyttö** (allow use of paid interfaces).

> Procountor charges a monthly fee for the integration interface, 13 € a month at the time of writing. The fee is billed by Procountor.

## Create an API user

1. Select **Hallinta** > **Käyttäjät ja käyttöoikeudet** > **Lisää uusi käyttäjä** (management > users and user rights > add new user).
2. Fill in the user details:

| Field | Value |
| - | - |
| **Etunimi** (first name) | caleido |
| **Sukunimi** (last name) | Your company's name |
| **Sähköpostiosoite** (email) | Your own email address |
| **User role** | **Johto / Tarkastaja** (management / auditor) |
| **Käyttäjätunnus** (username) | For example `caleido.yourcompany` |
| **Salasana** (password) | Select **Toimitan käyttäjälle henkilökohtaisesti** (I'll give it to the user personally) and set the password yourself |
| **Henkilörekisteri** (person register) | **Älä yhdistä käyttäjää henkilörekisteriin** (don't link the user to the person register) |
| **Sähköpostiviestit Procountorista** (emails from Procountor) | Clear all the checkboxes |

3. Click **Tallenna** (save).

> The role must be **Johto / Tarkastaja**. A broader role gives the API user more rights than Caleido needs.

Save the username and password somewhere safe.

## Send the credentials to Caleido

Send the username and the password to your contact person at Caleido in two separate messages:

* **Username** by email
* **Password** by text message

Your contact then sets up your organization in Caleido and connects the integration.
