# Export a report

> Export a report table to Excel or CSV, save a tab or a single card as PDF or PNG, copy it as an image, and export charts from the chart editor.

You can take report data out of Caleido as a spreadsheet or as an image. Spreadsheet exports (Excel, CSV) contain the table's numbers. Image exports (PDF, PNG and copy as image) look like what you see on screen and suit presentations and board packs.

All exports are in the **Actions** menu, under **Export**. When the menu is long, it also has a search field at the top where you can type the export name.

## Export a table to Excel or CSV

**1. Select the table**

Open the report or workbook tab. If the tab has several tables, click the table you want to export

**2. Open the export options**

Click **Actions** in the top bar and open **Export**

**3. Choose the format**

Select **Export to Excel** or **Export to CSV**. The file downloads to your computer

The file contains the rows and columns that are visible in the table, with the filters, columns and date range you have set. If you have not selected a table and the tab has several, Caleido asks **Which card?** so you can pick one.

The list view of transactions and budget items has its own **Export to Excel** and **Export to CSV** in its **Actions** menu.

## Export a tab as PDF or PNG

In **Actions** > **Export**:

* **Export to PDF** saves the whole tab as a PDF file
* **Export to PNG** saves the whole tab as an image
* **Copy as PNG** copies the whole tab to the clipboard, so you can paste it straight into a slide or an email

When a report table opens on its own, outside a workbook tab, the same options are called **Export page as PDF**, **Export page as PNG** and **Copy page as image**.

Caleido shows **Preparing export…** while the file is being created. Only one export can run at a time.

## Export a single card

To export one table, chart or KPI card from a tab:

* In **Actions** > **Export**, select **Export card as PDF**, **Export card as PNG** or **Copy card as image**, and pick the card if Caleido asks
* Or click **Export card as PDF** in the card header. It is pinned there by default

If you select several cards before you choose a card export, all selected cards are exported together.

## Export a chart from the chart editor

In the **Chart editor**, open **Actions** > **Export** and select **Export chart as PNG** or **Copy chart as image**. See [Build a chart](https://support.caleido.io/guides/reporting/build-a-chart.md).

>
> A chart whose logo is loaded from an external website can't be exported. Use a logo hosted by Caleido, or remove the logo.
