> ## Documentation Index > Fetch the complete documentation index at: https://support.caleido.io/llms.txt > Use this file to discover all available pages before exploring further. # Keyboard shortcuts > Look up the keyboard shortcuts and modifier clicks that work in Caleido reports, inline budget editing, the field helper, global search, the list view, the Builder, the Chart editor, workbooks, labeling rules and dialogs. This page lists the keyboard shortcuts available in Caleido. On a Mac, use Cmd wherever the table says Ctrl. Many shortcuts are also shown next to the command in the **Actions** menu and in the right-click menu. ## Reports These work when a report table is selected. Budget and forecast cells can be edited straight in the grid. See [Budget in the report grid](https://support.caleido.io/guides/budgeting/budget-in-the-report-grid.md). | Shortcut | What it does | | - | - | | Enter | Opens the selected budget or forecast cell for editing | | Type a number | Starts editing the selected budget or forecast cell with what you type | | F2, or double-click a filled cell | Edits the value in place, with the current value selected. Double-click no longer opens the **Overview** | | M | Opens the field helper for the selected budget or forecast cell | | Ctrl+Enter | Opens the **List view** for the selected cells | | Ctrl+Shift+Enter | Opens the **Overview** panel, or closes it when it is open | | Home, End | Moves to the first or last column of the row | | Ctrl+Home, Ctrl+End | Moves to the first or last cell of the table | | Shift+Home, Shift+End | Extends the selection to the start or end of the row | | `+` | Inserts a new row below the selected row (**Insert 1 row below**) | | Delete or Backspace | Deletes the budget items in the selected budget cells (**Delete budget item**). You are asked to confirm | | Drag the corner of a cell | Copies the cell's value to the next or previous periods (fill handle) | | Ctrl+C | Copies the selected cells | | Ctrl+V | Pastes into the budget cells. A single value pasted over several cells goes into every cell | | Ctrl+Shift+V | Pastes a single value divided evenly across the selected cells | | Esc | Clears the selection | | Click, Shift-click on the row number | Selects a row, or a range of rows | | Alt + drag | Drops the dragged rows on a dimension item without the labeling confirmation | > [!NOTE] > > Enter used to open the **List view**. It now opens the cell for editing, and the **List view** opens with Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on Mac). See [Paste budget figures from Excel](https://support.caleido.io/guides/budgeting/paste-from-excel.md) and [Label data on a report](https://support.caleido.io/guides/dimensions/label-data.md). ## Editing a budget cell While a budget or forecast cell is open for editing: | Shortcut | What it does | | - | - | | Enter | Saves the value and moves one row down. On a cell that is the total of several budget items, it opens the **Multiple budget items** window instead | | Tab, Shift+Tab | Saves the value and moves to the next or previous cell | | Esc | Cancels the edit and keeps the old value | | Arrow down | Opens the field helper. The value you typed stays in the cell until you save | | M | Opens or closes the field helper | | Left and Right arrows | Move the cursor in the value. At the start or end of the text they save and move to the cell on that side. You can turn this off in the field helper settings (**Field picker settings**) | | Arrow up | Moves the cursor. If you turn on **In a cell: up moves to the cell above** in the field helper settings, it saves and moves up one row | | Page up, Page down | Saves and moves 20 rows up or down | | `=` | Opens the formula bar | | Ctrl+Enter, Ctrl+Shift+Enter | Open the **List view** or the **Overview**, as in the report | ## Field helper The field helper opens under a budget or forecast cell and shows every budget item field, such as account, recurrence, memo, counterparty and dimensions. | Shortcut | What it does | | - | - | | Type, then Enter | Picks the field you typed, then the value you pick for it | | `*` | Lists every field | | Enter in the empty search box | Saves the changes, the same as **Apply** | | Enter in a field's box | Takes the value shown and moves to **Apply** | | Arrow down, Arrow up | Moves to the next or previous field, button or list option. Arrow up at the top returns to the cell | | Ctrl+Arrow down, Ctrl+Arrow up | Jumps to the next or previous box, or to the ends of an open list | | Tab, Shift+Tab | Moves between the fields in the helper. If you set **In the field selector, tab:** to **Moves between cells**, it moves the cell cursor instead | | Backspace in the empty search box | Removes the value chip, then the field chip | | Backspace in an emptied field box | Removes that field's row, unless the field is pinned | | Esc | In the search box, drops what you were picking. In a field's box, restores the value and returns to the search box. Elsewhere, closes the helper and discards the value you typed in the cell | | Ctrl+Enter, Ctrl+Shift+Enter | Open the **List view** or the **Overview** | Click the gear icon (**Field picker settings**) at the bottom of the helper to change how Tab and the arrow keys move, and to turn **Auto-save** and **Confirm bulk edits** on or off. ## List view In the budget section of the **List view**: | Shortcut | What it does | | - | - | | `+` | Opens the window for adding a budget item | | Delete or Backspace | Deletes the selected budget items | | Esc | Closes the list view when it is open as a window | ## Builder In the **Builder**, where you edit report templates: | Shortcut | What it does | | - | - | | Ctrl-click, Shift-click | Selects several rows, or a range of rows | | Delete or Backspace | Removes the selected rows | | Esc | Leaves row editing, or stops editing the template title | | Double-click an item in the panel | Adds it to the template | | Alt + drag from the panel | Drags a row together with its sub-rows | In the formula builder you can type numbers and the operators `+` `-` `*` `/` `(` `)` directly. Backspace removes the part before the cursor, and Left and Right arrows move the cursor. See [Edit a report template](https://support.caleido.io/guides/reporting/edit-a-report.md). ## Formula bar When you type `=` in a budget cell, the formula bar opens. | Shortcut | What it does | | - | - | | Enter | Saves the formula | | Shift+Enter | Adds a line break | | Esc | Closes the formula bar | ## Chart editor | Shortcut | What it does | | - | - | | Ctrl+Z | Undoes the last change | | Ctrl+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y | Redoes the change | | Alt+1 to Alt+9 | Opens the settings of series 1 to 9 | | `/` | Moves the cursor to **Search settings…** | See [Build a chart](https://support.caleido.io/guides/reporting/build-a-chart.md). ## Workbooks | Shortcut | What it does | | - | - | | Ctrl-click a card | Selects several elements on a tab | | Delete or Backspace | Deletes the selected elements in edit mode. You are asked to confirm | | Esc | Clears the element selection | | Enter, Esc on a title | Saves or cancels a title you are editing | | Ctrl-click a workbook or page in the sidebar | Opens it in a new browser tab | See [Add elements to a tab](https://support.caleido.io/guides/reporting/add-elements-to-a-tab.md). ## Labeling rules | Shortcut | What it does | | - | - | | Delete or Backspace | Deletes the selected rules after confirmation | | Ctrl+Delete or Ctrl+Backspace | Deletes the selected rules without asking | | Ctrl-click **Delete** | Deletes the selected rules without asking | See [Automate labeling with rules](https://support.caleido.io/guides/dimensions/labeling-rules.md). ## Journal entries In the **Add journal entry** window, Enter and Tab move to the next cell. Enter in the last cell of a line confirms it. See [Create a journal entry](https://support.caleido.io/guides/transactions/journal-entries.md). ## Global search | Shortcut | What it does | | - | - | | Ctrl+K | Opens the search box from anywhere, or closes it | | Arrow up, Arrow down | Moves through the list. Ctrl+Arrow up or Ctrl+Arrow down jumps to the first or last row | | Arrow right | Browses into the highlighted object type or object, such as a counterparty's related items | | Arrow left, Shift+Tab | Goes back one level, or removes the highlight | | Enter | Runs the highlighted row. On an object, the first Enter picks it and the second runs its default action | | Shift+Enter | Opens the highlighted transaction or invoice in a window (**Open in a modal**) | | Ctrl+Shift+Enter | Opens the highlighted object in a new browser tab (**Open in a new tab**) | | Ctrl+. | Jumps to the actions | | Ctrl+Shift+F | Pins the highlighted row to **Favorites**, or unpins it | | Tab | Accepts the suggested completion shown in grey | | Backspace in the empty box | Removes the last chip | | Ctrl+/ | Shows all search shortcuts | | Esc | Closes the list.
